Germination
Sow in a cold frame in spring or autumn. Sow directly in a seed bed in April. Surface sow onto moist, well-drained seed compost. Just cover seed with a sprinkling of soil. Ideal temp. 20°C. Germination takes from 2 weeks approx. Germination can be erratic taking up to 3 months. Transplant seedlings when large enough to handle. Grow on under glass. Acclimatise and plant out in summer.
Growing
Prefers a rich, loamy, moist soil in full or partial sun. Will tolerate any soil. Easy to care for.
Cultivation
Requires little attention. Propagate by seed or by division in spring.
