Sow

Germination

Direct sow Mar-September where they are to crop. Sow thinly 15mm deep into drills of finely prepared soil which has been watered. Allow 15cm between rows. Early and late sowings may benefit from cloche protection. Seedlings appear in 14-21 days. Thinning is not required. Successional sow every 2-3 weeks.

Growing

Once planted out cover with netting or fleece to prevent attack from birds and insects. Water freely during dry weather.

Cultivation

Harvest when pencil thin. Harvest alternate plants as required, this allows more space for remaining plants to develop.
