Germination
Sow indoors in spring or early autumn. Sow seeds thinly onto moist well-drained seed compost. Just cover with soil. Propagate with gentle heat. When large enough to handle transplant into 8cm pots. Water regularly and feed once a month until seedlings become small plants. Harden off gradually. Plant out after danger of frost has passed with 30cm spacing. Autumn sowings should be planted out the following spring.
Growing
Likes a south or west facing sunny position. Prefers a well-drained soil. Only water if there is an extended period of dry weather. Flowering may be reduced if a fertiliser is used.
Cultivation
Deadhead regularly to prolong the flowering window.
