Germination

Sow indoors. Sow onto dry seed compost. Just cover the seed with vermiculite. Mist with water, these seeds require very little water. Propagate at 20-25°C. Only water again once the top 5mm of soil is dry. Germination takes 3-4 weeks. Once germinated remove the cover to prevent damping off. Transplant seedlings when large enough to handle into 8cm pots. Acclimatise and plant out 30cm apart in full sun.

Growing

Grow in a mass for best effect. Pinch back when first planted to encourage branching. Water deeply to encourage root growth.

Cultivation

Cut and come again variety. Cut flowers regularly to encourage growth and to prolong flowering window. Lift tubers in autumn or mulch in winter for added protection.
