Germination

Sow indoors. Sow 2mm deep into moist well-drained seed compost. Just cover the seed with soil. Propagate 20°C. Germination 10-24 days. Once seedlings are large enough to handle transplant to 8cm pots. Acclimatise and plant out in early summer with 30cm spacing. Can be sown directly in late spring 3-4mm deep into good compost. Germination takes 10-30 days. Thin seedlings to 30cm spacing.

Growing

Water well until established, approx. 30cm in height. Do not overcrowd, this plant will spread easily.

Cultivation

Divide clumps every 3 years to remove excess woody growth which over time will retard good growth. If you will to collect seed or allow to self sow let the spherical heads become dry and brown before cutting.
