Germination
Sow indoors late winter-spring. The seeds are very small, you may mix with a little silver sand to aid sowing if desired. Surface sow onto moist seed compost. Just cover with a light sprinkling of soil. Keep constantly moist until germination occurs. Ideal temp. 20°C. Germination takes 2 weeks approx. but can sometimes be erratic. Once germinated grow on in cooler conditions. Transplant a clump of seedlings at a time.
Growing
Prefers any moderately fertile soil in full sun to partial shade. Will tolerate a well-drained to even boggy soil.
Cultivation
Propagate by division or by seed. Cut back dead or faded plant material in autumn.
