Sow indoors Mar-Apr. Sow direct May-Jun. Sow indoors 5mm deep into individual pots of moist well-drained seed compost. Germination takes 14-21 days. Plant out after last frosts with 45cm spacing. Direct sow in drills and thin to 45cm spacing.
Growing
Prefers fertile well-drained soil in full sun. Water well until established. Requires little attention.
Cultivation
Will benefit from occasional clipping. This is a short lived plant and will need to be replaced after a few years.
