Germination
Sow indoors Feb-May or Sep-Oct. Surface sow onto moist, well-drained seed compost. Just cover seed with a sprinkling of soil, light is needed for germination. Germination takes 10-42 days approx. Transplant seedlings when large enough to handle to 8cm pots and grow on. Acclimatise and plant out after danger of frost has passed.
Growing
Prefers any well-drained soil in full sun. Protect from winter wet. Ideal for the rock garden or a raised bed.
Cultivation
Requires little attention. The plant will die back in winter. The crown of the plant will remain alive below the soil and new growth will emerge from this in spring. Propagate via seed or by division in spring.
