Germination

Sow indoors or under glass. Surface sow onto lightly firmed, moist well-drained seed compost. Press seeds into the soil but do not cover. Light is needed for germination. Propagate 18-20°C. Transplant seedlings once large enough to handle to 15cm pots. Acclimatise and plant out at a depth of 0-15cms.

Growing

Happy in heavy clay soils and other ordinary soils. Plants can grow in water up to 15cm deep. Can be invasive so restrict root run.

Cultivation

To propagate divide plants at any time of year. Virtually any part of the root can grow into a new plant. Harvest stems when the plant is about to flower.
