Germination
Sow directly where they are to flower in autumn. Surface sow, do not cover with soil as light is needed for germination. Germination will occur over winter with seedlings appearing as the soil warms the following spring. Thin to 20cm spacing.
Growing
Prefer moist rich alkaline soil in dappled shade. Water regularly. Fertilise well and often for improved bloom production.
Cultivation
Will flower in the 2nd year. Will self-seed freely. Deadhead to avoid self-seeding. The dye can be obtained from the seeds formed.
