Germination

Sow indoors Jan-Mar, Sow directly Apr-Jun. Indoors, surface sow onto moist, well-drained seed compost. Just cover seed with a sprinkling of soil. Firm and keep moist. Propagate. Ideal temp. 20°C. Germination takes 2-4 weeks approx. Admit air when seedlings emerge. Transplant when large enough to handle to 8cm pots and grow on. Acclimatise and plant out when danger of frost has passed. Can be sown directly into prepared soil which has been raked to a fine tilth. Thin to 20cm spacing.

Growing

Prefers a loamy soil. Will grow in almost any situation. Can tolerate drought conditions but should remain green with 2-3 waterings(or rain) per month.

Cultivation

Mow at least once per year in a lawn situation.
