Germination

This packet contains tiny seed, please handle with caution. Sow indoors. Surface sow onto moist well-drained seed compost. Do not cover the seed. Place a sheet of glass or polythene over the seed tray and place somewhere warm or propagate, approx. 18-21°C. Germination takes 10-14 days, tiny leaves will appear, but keep the tray covered until they are a few mm in size, then open the cover a little at a time until they become acclimatised. Leave seedlings in the tray until they are 5mm then transplant to individual pots. Plants should flower approx. 6 months from spring sowing.

Growing

Grow under glass in a loam-less compost in bright filtered light. Allow compost to dry between waterings. Can be grown outside in warmer regions in a humus-rich soil which is well-drained in partial shade. Must be kept frost free.

Cultivation

Remove faded flower stalks to avoid self-seeding.
